Our Mission
Our God calls us to serve others, and to love our neighbors as ourselves. The United Methodist Church is built on a foundation of service to society in the name of the God who heals all things. At Hamline Church, children, youth, and adults all have opportunities to do good for the community and serve others.
Community Bread Oven
We break bread together & serve our neighborhood through our community bread oven. In 2025, we've begun a tradition of gifting bread to our neighbors as a tangible sign of abundance in this time of scarcity.
Hamline Church Dining Hall
Serving at the State Fair and connecting with our neighbors! Our Dining Hall partners with Emma Norton Services to support women and families recovering from homelessness through housing, support services, and community.
Garden Ministry
We grow fresh food and vegetables for our neighborhood. Produce is donated to the Hamline Midway Elders, and to people in need through the Keystone Food Mobile. During the summer, Hamline Kids spend their Sunday School time growing and tending the garden.
SOCIAL JUSTICE
We hold a number of efforts throughout the year from meal service volunteers at Dorothy Day, a school supplies drive, summer meals for kids, and more!
HAMLINE CHURCH EARTHKEEPERS
Our Hamline Earthkeepers serve by focusing on efforts like recycling, composting and solar panels installed!
Youth & Children Ministries
Sacred Studio and Summer in SPROUT is our children's spiritual formation time on Sundays. Guiding our next generation by helping out on Sunday's with our Sunday school, VBS and more!
More ways we serve the world
- Mission trips for Adults and Youth
- Providing Sanctuary to All
Our adult group HAMERS built a casita and a school while in Mexico in January 2025. Our summer youth 2025 mission trip will be to Appalachia! Subscribe to our newsletter to be notified when we announce our next mission trip!
We believe that it is our duty as Christians and as citizens to welcome new Americans, and provide them with safe and welcoming homes in their new life. We partner with the Minnesota Council of Churches in a refugee family co-sponsorship program. This program pairs churches with families in order to provide well-stocked apartments, American contacts, and friends, to families in their first six months in the United States.
