Music at Hamline Church
Our music is vibrant, diverse, and deeply woven into our worship. Drawing from sacred and secular traditions around the world, we embrace musical styles ranging from classical, gospel, and folk to jazz, rock, blues, pop, chant, and beyond. We believe all kinds of music can carry meaningful spiritual messages and connect us across cultures. Our community of musicians—of all backgrounds, abilities, and instruments—brings richness and variety to every service. Whether you sing, play, or have an idea for a special performance, there’s a place for your gifts in our music ministry.
Chancel Choir
Wednesday nights from 7:00pm – 8:30pm
The Chancel Choir offers meaningful musical experiences and warm fellowship for singers of all levels. We sing in most Sunday worship services from September through early June, including special concerts. Our repertoire spans from Renaissance and Romantic works to Bluegrass and Broadway. If you can carry a tune, you’ll find your song in the Chancel Choir. Contact Dr. David Kozisek Director of Music & Worship with interest (dkozisek@hamlinechurch.org).
Handbell Choir
Wednesdays from 4:00pm - 5:30pm
The Handbell Choir presents music in worship once a month. We play a variety of 3-4 octave repertoire at the intermediate level. You’ll enjoy building your musical skills and confidence, while expressing yourself in a warm, supportive community of musicians. Contact Dr. David Kozisek Director of Music & Worship with interest (dkozisek@hamlinechurch.org).
House Band
Wednesdays from 6:00pm - 7:00pm
The House Band offers unique and modern interpretations of sacred music, while also discovering spiritual themes in secular and popular songs of today. We rehearse weekly on Wednesdays at 6:00pm throughout the year and play during worship services 2–3 times a month. If you sing or play an instrument, House Band Leader Micah Erickson would love to help you share your gifts. Reach out with any questions or song suggestions (merickson@hamlinechurch.org).
Casavant Organ
Our Casavant Frères Organs provide us with beautiful and robust music each Sunday. Whether a meditative prelude or a celebratory postlude, the sound of the organ is both calming and inspiring. The Chancel Organ has 4,328 pipes and the Antiphonal Organ in the rear balcony has 793 pipes. Full specifications and a history of the organ is available here!
Kid's Groups
Children’s Music includes kids’ choir, handbells, and ukulele band performances, helping children build musical skills and participate in worship. We meet Wednesdays at 6:00 pm during the school year. Contact Dr. David Kozisek Director of Music & Worship with interest (dkozisek@hamlinechurch.org).
