Tell Me Something Good: Lent & Holy Week 2026<\/h3>\n

Our worship this Lent explores the stories of spiritual transformation as lived out by our biblical ancestors in faith, and invites us to open our hearts to true transformation that unfolds in the promise of resurrection on Easter morning.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Hamline Church embraces the Methodist tradition of small groups, providing opportunities to deepen faith in God, connect with others, and grow together in community. Starting the week of February 22nd, you are invited to take part in our seasonal small groups here at Hamline. Most will follow our worship series, <\/span>Tell Me Something Good:<\/b> Grounding Ourselves in the Good News This Lent<\/span><\/i>, with one group focusing on spiritual practices and another on the gospel of John.       For those able, we will begin the morning outside of the sanctuary, front doors next to Englewood Ave to have a processional with our palm leaves. After worship join us downstairs in the community room for pretzels!<\/p>\n

      \n<\/b>Live stream begins at approx 7:00pm at hamlinechurch.org\/live-stream.\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n

      \u2028\u2028Potluck dinner in the community room at 6:00pm \u2028Sanctuary worship (livestream at approx 7:00pm at hamlinechurch.org\/live-stream) \u2028Worship begins with a meal or remembrance in the Community Room and then concludes with a Tenebrae service in the sanctuary.\u2028\u2028If you are able \u2013 please sign up to bring a dish to share or\/and to help with set up or clean up sign up here:<\/span><\/p>\n

      The word \u201ctenebrae\u201d comes from the Latin meaning \u201cdarkness.\u201d The Tenebrae is an ancient Christian Good Friday service that makes use of gradually diminishing light through the extinguishing of candles to symbolize the events of that week from the triumphant Palm Sunday entry through Jesus\u2019 burial.<\/span><\/p>\n

      Good Friday Taiz\u00e9 Service<\/span>

      7:00pm in the Hamline Church Sanctuary. Taiz\u00e9 worship is a contemplative candlelight service with simple songs, scripture, silence, and meditation.       Worship at 10:00am.<\/span> Prelude music begins at 9:45am. \u2028Our Easter worship includes a joyful celebration of the Easter story, Holy Communion, and fantastic music from the Chancel Choir, Children's Choir, Handbell Choir, House Band and organ.\u00a0 Plus join us after worship for an Easter egg scavenger hunt on the front lawn and delicious treats including hot cross buns from the brick oven!<\/span><\/p>\n
