Joining Hamline Church<\/h3>\n

Membership means choosing to belong. At Hamline Church, being a member means belonging to our church family, the body of Christ. We extend our invitation to each person if you are a follower of Christ and if you willingly commit to serve this church with your presence, prayers, gifts, service and witness. If you are considering membership with us, we hope that you will embrace the process by following a few simple steps.<\/p>\n

STEP 1: Newcomer Meet & Greet<\/h4>\n

First, please join us at a New Member Informational\u00a0Gathering, usually held after church or over dinner, these\u00a01 hour sessions are offered two-three times per year. At the Informational Gathering, you will be presented with\u00a0resources to make this important decision. You will also meet the staff of Hamline Church who will answer any questions you have. This is also the time where you will be invited to share a part of your faith journey and how you came to Hamline Church.<\/p>\n

STEP 2: Newcomer Inquiry Class<\/h4>\n

Next, you will be invited to the Basic Belief class. In similar format to the Informational Gathering, at this session you will\u00a0learn about the main resources that are available to our\u00a0church family members, our mission statement, what\u00a0United Methodists believe as a denomination, and how we\u00a0work to live out our Christian beliefs.<\/p>\n

STEP 3: Join at Hamline Church<\/h4>\n

Next, if you have been baptized previously, you will\u00a0choose a worship service in which to accept the vows of\u00a0membership.<\/p>\n

If you have not yet been baptized, we will arrange this with\u00a0you personally.<\/p>\n

You may be transferring from another United Methodist\u00a0church, another denomination, or by means of profession of\u00a0faith in Jesus Christ. However you become part of our\u00a0family, we will love, support, and encourage you in your\u00a0spiritual journey as a follower of Christ.<\/p>\n
