Worshiping with Children

At Hamline Church, we embrace kids.  Their sounds and presence remind us of the joy, spontaneity, and awesomeness of God.  You spend enough time apart during your busy week; join us for worship as a whole family.

Children are always welcome in worship.

Worship materials (books, art supplies) are available as you enter the sanctuary.  A children’s message is offered each week during worship. After the message children accompany adult leaders to their Sunday School classrooms. During the summer, children may remain in worship with their families, or work in the garden. On Communion Sundays, the first Sunday of every month, children stay in worship with their families so we can all gather at God’s table together.

NURSERY

For those families interested, nursery care is provided in Room 8 in the upstairs Sunday school hallway. We always have two childcare professionals staffing our nursery.

SUNDAY SCHOOL

Children from preschool through 6th grade are invited to join us for Sunday School on Sunday mornings. On the first Sunday of each month children stay with their families in worship and celebrate Communion together. On other Sundays, children can attend Sunday School after the Children’s Message, during the worship service. We have three flexible class groupings in addition to the nursery: PreK/K, 1st/2nd, 3rd/4th, 5th/6th.  Sunday School is offered September through May.

More Information about the Children's Ministry

When Pastor Mariah's daughter Willa was baptized, the Rev. Gay Albers was a visiting minister. She invited the children to touch the water and remember their own baptisms.
