The tree tracery divisions of the clerestory (upper) windows symbolize the holy Trinity. These ten windows feature phrases from the Te Deum laudamus (We praise the, O God), an early chant of the Western church from the fourth century. Installed between 1930 and 1960, they were the first planned for the building.
Lectern side, from front to balcony:
All the earth doth worship thee, the Father everlasting.
To thee all angels cry aloud; the heavens and all powers therein.
To thee cherubim and seraphim continually do cry.
Heaven and earth are full of the majesty of thy glory.
The glorious company of the apostles praise thee.
Pulpit side, from balcony to front:
The holy church throughout all the world doth acknowledge thee.
The Father, of an infinite majesty.
Thine adorable, true, and only son.
Also the holy ghost, the comforter.
Thou are the everlasting son of the Father.
Smaller, lower-story windows recall stories from the Bible.
