Refugee Co-Sponsorship

For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself." (Galatians 5:14)

In early 2016, our refugee co-sponsorship team formed to respond to the outpouring of refugees across the world. We believe that it is our duty as Christians and as citizens to welcome new Americans in Minnesota, and provide them with safe and welcoming homes in their new life.

We partner with the Minnesota Council of Churches in a refugee family co-sponsorship program. This program pairs churches with families in order to provide well-stocked apartments, American contacts, and friends, to families in their first six months in the United States.

In May, we welcomed a Karen family of 7 to the United States and are helping them to resettle in Saint Paul. Our role now is to help them travel to appointments, socialize, and learn how to get by here in Saint Paul.

How You Can Help

Our refugee family will soon experience their first Minnesota winter! We need to make sure they have the proper clothing. We do not have their exact sizes but the children's ages are 15, 13, 11, 9 and 6. Oldest and youngest are boys. The parents also need winter clothing. We have set up a cubby outside the church office for donations. Please consider donating your gently used coats, boots, sweaters, hats, etc.
