Hamline Church Dining Hall

Our State Fair Dining Hall unites all the members of our congregation [from youth to senior citizens] in extending our hospitality to "Back to the Fifties" Show in June and to State Fair visitors each year. The Fair's oldest continuous concessionaire--we are also blessed with a loyal legion of Dining Hall workers who attend other churches but still maintain this connection to Hamline Church.

We needed a lot of help at our Hamline Fair Dining Hall - Serving 7AM-7PM (just east of Visitors Center on Dan Patch Drive) Aug. 21-Sept.1! Many types of jobs are always available from meal prep to serving to dishwashing to helping in the dining area and BEYOND!
Sign up sheets were available after church for several weeks before and during the fair. 3 shifts: breakfast: 6:30-11AM lunch: 10:30AM-4PM supper: 3:30-8PM
It's a wonderful ministry for the church and a lot of fun!

FOOD--a focal point of the Great Minnesota Get-Together! Many fairgoers start their day with the Breakfast Special. Lunches and dinners are a magnet for those seeking comfort foods such as mashed potatoes and gravy, our legendary Hamline Hamloaf, and other hot entrees. Sandwiches, salads, burgers and hot dogs, plus a full range of beverages and desserts, round out the menu. The bottomless cup of coffee is the ultimate bargain. Hamline Church Dining Hall's Famous HAM LOAF recipe Volunteers carry out nearly all the tasks needed to run a full-service restaurant operation. Duties range from flipping pancakes to stocking coolers to bussing tables. A 32-member committee, under the leadership of two dedicated co-chairs, guides the Dining Hall's direction and operations. Recruiting efforts are underway and continue right through the 12-day run of the Fair. Anyone interested in joining our Dining Hall crew can contact the Church Office at 651/645-0667.
NEWS FROM THE DINING HALL TEAM !
There were 4 shifts in 2007 at the Fair: Breakfast: 6:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Lunch 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Afternoon: 2:00 to 5:00 pm Dinner: 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. 2007 was Hamline's 110th year at the Fair and, as always, we needed lots of volunteers to staff the Dining Hall and also others who helped in other ways too. Volunteers helped with our laundry during the Fair and some with cars provided transportation between the Church and Fair Grounds for volunteers who needed a ride. WE THANK EVERYONE for visiting, helping, or supporting our Dining Hall as we celebrated our 110th anniversary (1897-2007).
