Each Sunday morning we worship at 10 am. The music is uplifting and the sermon is inspiring. Hamline Church United Methodist has a worshipful and historic sanctuary that enhances the spiritual life of our congregation. As United Methodists, we celebrate two sacraments; Holy Communion and Baptism. Communion is served the first Sunday of each month, and we celebrate baptisms regularly throughout the year. Following the service, enjoy refreshments while connecting with or making new friends in the Community Room. A nursery for infants and toddlers is provided during worship. Children of all ages are welcome in worship and Sunday School (ages 3 to grade 6) is offered during the school year. During the summer, kids may choose to work in the garden during worship. Visitors are always welcome.

About Centering Prayer
8:15 - 8:35 | Parlor (9:15 - 9:35 in the Summer)
We introduce our time together, sit in silence intentionally in relation with God and each other and end our time together in 20 minutes. All who find themselves in our church early on Sunday morning are welcome to join us at any point in our practice. There will be a sign on the door to invite and identify our gathering. Some trace the current practice of Centering Prayer to the silent observances of the desert fathers and mothers in the Egyptian desert of the third century. Our practice at Hamline Church finds inspiration in the words and writings of Father Thomas Keating in his extensive guidance regarding the discipline.
Hamline Church hosts evening worship events beyond the traditional, Christian Sunday Morning Service. Each season, there are opportunities to experience Taize, Spiritual and Religious Poetry, and other expansive worship styles. Upcoming events are:
Blue Christmas: A Service of Reflection for the Longest Night & Those Who Mourn
Wednesday, December 7 | 6:30 pm
Speaking Like Light: An Evening of Contemplative Poetry
Thursday, February 16 | 7 pm
